The Hammerhead Choppa is the latest vehicle to get added in Fortnite’s Shock N’ Awesome season, and it is a solid way to get around the map with your squad to get strategic positioning.
Fortnite‘s latest update added several new mobility options, including the formidable Hammerhead Choppa. This flying vehicle lets you dominate the skies, providing a tactical advantage to evade conflict and navigate the closing circles with ease. However, the Choppa only spawns at a limited number of locations on the island, so you’ll need to move quickly to secure one before another squad claims it.
How to find Hammerhead Choppa in Fortnite
You can find these Hammerhead Choppa in four places, which are infested by bugs on the map. The most prominent location is the isolated base directly north of the Hive point of interest, which always has one waiting. For a southern option, head to the base north of Canyon Crossing and you’ll find the chopper stationed on the hilltop.
Next, this one isn’t marked on the map as an infested base, but the O.X.R. HQ also has a place for the Choppa. Lastly, you can make your way to the north of Outpost Enclave, which is near the Kappa Kappa factory on the map.
Once you arrive, head straight for the helipad because the Choppa is always stationed there. Use your interact key to enter and take it to the skies. Since these bases are spread out, your best strategy is to land at one that is far from the Battle Bus’ flight path to avoid early competition. However, if you choose to contest a popular drop, prioritize grabbing a weapon immediately. Eliminate any enemies on the pad before they can steal the vehicle and escape.
How to use Hammerhead Choppa in Fortnite
While the Hammerhead Choppa lacks built-in weapons and is vulnerable to enemy fire, it boasts a unique tactical feature: the ability to hover steadily in place. This allows you to seamlessly switch seats and return fire on opponents trying to ground you.
Unlike other aerial vehicles in Fortnite, which plummet to the ground when the pilot exits, the Choppa remains airborne. This gives you a stable platform to eliminate pesky threats on the ground before jumping back into the pilot’s seat to make your escape.
Its greatest tactical benefit is its remarkably low fuel consumption. This enables you to make long-distance rotations deep into the late game, scout for enemies without penalty, and generally dominate the skies for far longer than any other vehicle allows. It also gives you a way to loot those obscure corners of the map, without worrying about running out of fuel for your journey.
It also comes with a loudspeaker, which doesn’t have any advantage, but you can play it to draw enemy attention in the sky and take them down easily. You can play your loudspeakers near the enemy to also complete a challenge and earn 20,000 XP for your taunt.
