Thousands of people across Greater Manchester went to the polls on Thursday to vote in the local elections .
Elections took place in every borough with dozens of council seats up for grabs.
Polls closed on Thursday at 10pm and counts took place at most town halls overnight - with the Manchester count on Friday afternoon.
Across the country the Conservative Party lost hundreds of council seats, with Labour also losing dozens.
The Lib Dems however made big gains.
Locally, Labour took full control of Trafford council after more than a decade trying but lost overall control of Bolton.
Meanwhile in Stockport, Labour are now neck and neck with the Liberal Democrats , with a power struggle now set to ensue.
