All Glasgow secondary schools ranked from best to worst as league table published

Glasgow schools have been ranked in a special league table based on the number of pupils attaining five or more highers.

The figures, published by The Times, list all schools in Scotland and we have narrowed it down to just the city wide results.

In Scotland, Jordanhill Secondary School is top the chart for the fifth year in a row, with 88 per cent of pupils leaving with five or more Highers in 2018-19, beating its previous chart-topping result of 82 per cent in 2017-18.

At Jordanhill about three quarters of pupils come from one of the most affluent parts of Glasgow, and less than 10 per cent are eligible for free school meals.

Ardsgoil Glasgow Gaelic Secondary School also featured in Scotland's top 20, ranking eight in the country with 70 per cent of pupils hitting the five higher mark.

The worst performing school in Glasgow was Lochend Community High School.

The school, located in Easterhouse,  saw just nine per cent of pupils walk away with five highers.

Elsewhere, East Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire remain the best-performing councils in the country with five schools each in the top 20.

The statistics for individual schools were released by the Scottish government earlier this week and  the Times analysis is based on data on the same exam results published by the government’s education analytical services division.
