The Xbox layoffs of July 2 have hit like a truck. At least a couple of games have been cancelled, along with a vast number of people sadly losing their jobs.
Most of the news related to the latest round of layoffs has come from social media. There hasn't been an official press release as of writing, so it's hard to gauge the exact fallout. It's really sad that a lot of hard-working people have lost their jobs across multiple departments, and certain projects will no longer see the light of day.

The news about games being cancelled also comes from social media sources. Neither Microsoft nor Xbox has held a public press briefing, but the cancellation of at least three games has now been confirmed.

Everwild, which Rare Studios was developing, is now cancelled. The game has reportedly been in development since at least 2019, when it was first revealed. It has been a long time since there has been any substantial news about the game or its potential release. This could suggest that the development cycle had faced plenty of hardships already, and the latest round of layoffs might have been the final nail in the coffin.
Project Blackbird, which has been under development since 2018, has also been officially cancelled by Zenimax. We have no idea what the actual name for the game would have been, had it been released in the future. There are no such chances, and it's unlikely that the project or the IP would be revived again. Other in-development projects at Zenimax might have also been affected.
The latest news also hints at the cancellation of Perfect Dark and The Initiative.

There are also news that the subsidiaries of Xbox have been hit hard. This includes big names like Raven Studios and Turn 10, as the latter has reportedly lost nearly half of its staff.
The only official words during this entire saga have been from Phil Spencer, who sent an official memo to employees at Xbox. The full-scale fallout of today's layoffs is yet to be fully realized, and there might be more news of game cancellations coming our way.
