What do you do if you are a 24-hour news channel but there isn't necessarily a great deal of news going on? That's right, you press the button marked "bring on the cheerleaders, pronto!" That's what Sky News did on Saturday lunchtime, giving a shameless plug to sister channel Sky Sports' live coverage of yesterday's NFL American Football Game at Wembley. "I have to say there aren't many guests at Sky Centre who get a reception like that from our production crew," said presenter Steve Dixon after the girls strutted their stuff and the Sky News team broke into applause. "Perhaps you can understand why." Steady on, Steve-o! If you don't have time to watch the full interview - what, jobs to do? - it is worth skipping forward to 2min 20sec for Dixon's Sid James-style cackle. "The British fans seem to be fans of us as well," says head cheerleader, Lacie Turner. "Ha ha, I can understand why," replies Dixon. Get that man a cold shower.
