Children of all ages should get ready to have their imaginations expanded in a land of weird and wonderful creatures at Emporium & EmQuartier In Wonderland Zooventure, which kicks off today and runs until Sunday.
Held to mark National Children's Day, the event features the 10m² Bug-A-Boo Dome at the Helix Garden, 5th floor. The artificial-insect habitat dome replicates His Majesty The King Insect Park in Kamphaeng Saen district, Nakhon Pathom.
On display are more than 1,000 insects, including butterflies of various species. Visitors can learn about the life cycle of a butterfly, from egg to larva, and from chrysalis to full-fledged butterfly. A team of experts from Kasetsart University's Faculty of Agriculture will be on hand to give information and answer questions.
Also at the Helix Garden is the Exotic Pet Jungle, with its array of unusual species of domestic pets from first-hand owners and experts from the Exotic Pet Association. Among those included are a white lion, fennec fox, prairie dog, blue-tongued skink, silkie chicken, bearded dragon and iguana.
This is also an opportunity to get up close to free-roaming parrots and macaws from the Freestyle Flying Club and Parrots's Paradise Club. Learn about the nature of these creatures and how to take care of them properly from experts.
Ready to bring smiles to all visitors at the Quartier Park, M floor, on Saturday and Sunday is the Zooventure Parade, featuring more than 30 animals and insects. The parade will take place at noon, 2pm and 5pm.
Saturday and Sunday will also see the Zooventure Mascot Troop, featuring Bozo the Clown giving away animal-shaped balloons and performing at 12.30pm, 2.30pm, 4.30pm and 6.30pm, at the Helix Dining area from the 6th to 9th floor of Helix Quartier.
Exclusively on Saturday, there will also be a cooking show hosted by Masterchef Junior Thailand at Helix Dining, 9th floor, at 3pm.
