The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) said yesterday there were no irregularities in Suphanburi's 2-1 home loss to Chainat in their final Thai League 1 match of the season last Sunday.
The result sent Bangkok Glass, who suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Nakhon Ratchasima, to Thai League 2.
Chainat and Bangkok Glass both had 42 points but the Hornbills were placed higher due to their superior head-to-head record against the Rabbits.
But while Bangkok Glass chose to blame themselves for the setback as they only needed a draw to remain in the top flight, some media outlets and sections of Suphanburi supporters lashed out at the way the club lost to Chainat.
Suphanburi surprisingly did not field their top strikers Cleiton Silva, who was on loan from Chiang Rai United, and Romulo in the starting line-up.
FAT spokesman Patit Supaphong said: "There will be no investigation because the team only wanted to send a player on loan [Cleiton] back to his team without injury. There was no match-fixing."
Earlier, Suphanburi coach Phairoj Bovornwattanadilok said he wanted to send the duo on as substitutes but a certain person told him not to do so.
