In Far Far West, you have to collect a bunch of Cacti as part of a secret side quest, Cactus Family Reunion, in the Desert map.
You’ll need to match and reunite six small cactus kids with their six larger cactus parents scattered across the sand, then bring each kid back to its correct parent to finish the mission. After completing all six reunions in a single run, it unlocks the Cactus Day Joker, which has a small chance to spawn a cactus-themed Minino around where enemies die later in the run.
Because the kid and parent pairings change every run, random wandering eats up way too much time. With that said, here’s everything you need to know about Far Far West Cactus locations and pairings.

Start near the northern rocky ridge

Immediately after dropping into the Desert, head slightly north of the central basin toward the rocky ridge and small hill clusters.
One of the six parent cacti usually spawns in a small ring of rocks mixed with a few tall cacti. Circle the rock cluster and check each large cactus. Very close by, you’ll often find a kid cactus near a lone boulder or a small rocky outcrop. If the hint says “near the lone stone” or “by the rocks,” you’re in the right spot.
After you grab the first kid, leave the parent interaction for now and keep moving. You’ll come back later once you’ve mapped all six parents.
Swing into the central cactus field

From the northern rocks, head southeast toward the central road and then angle into the big cactus field that runs along or near the main track. This central field is where two or three parents usually sit, spaced apart rather than bunched up.
If a kid you’ve picked up so far mentions “road,” “track,” or “flat sand,” start by checking the cacti closest to the road, then fan out into the wider field. At this stage, your goal is to mark all six parents on your own mental map. You can take screenshots, write coordinates, or just note landmarks.
Hit the southwest rocky slope

Next, push toward the southwest edge of the map, where the desert slopes gently into the map border.
One parent cactus typically sits on a short rocky ridge that juts into the sand from the southwest. Look for any small hill covered in pebbles or rocks mixed with cacti.
Very close by, you’ll often see a kid cactus near a small boulder or a tight cactus cluster. The hint text here usually mentions “hill,” “rise,” or “southwest corner.” If you’ve already picked up a matching kid earlier, this is a good time to swing back and finish the reunion. If not, flag the parent and keep moving so you don’t start backtracking in the middle of the run.
Sweep the southeast cactus cluster

Finish the sweep by heading to the southeast corner of the desert, near the map’s edge and the micro-hills. A small cluster of cacti near the bottom-right edge almost always has one parent and sometimes even both a kid and its parent. The hint text here usually says something like “near the southeast corner,” “far east,” or “close to the edge.”
Because this area is small, you can often clear two or three pairings in one quick pass if you approach from the central road and then angle down to the corner.
Use the kid-to-parent matching loop
Once you’ve touched all six parents, shift your strategy. Bring up your screenshots or notes and line up each kid’s hint with the parent’s location.
For example, if Kid A says “near the rocks,” ignore the lone boulder patch and check the northern rock ring instead. Follow a strict order on your map:
- North > Central fields > Southwest ridge > Southeast corner
Since you can’t ride your mount while holding a baby cactus, plan to walk only the shortest possible leg from kid to parent. Anything longer than 10 to 15 seconds is a good candidate for a vehicle trip once you’re done with that reunion.

Far Far West Cactus pairing gear and loadout
Your movement and camera control give you a big edge in spotting spawns quickly. Use a fast mount or vehicle if you’re already unlocked one. The desert is wide, and running on foot burns stamina and wastes time.
Bind your minimap and camera keys comfortably so you can scan for cactus clusters while moving. Terrain-based hints like “near the rocks” or “by the cliffs” are easy to miss if you’re only looking straight ahead
Pause and take a screenshot of the first six parent cacti as you find them. Write down a rough location name so you can quickly match it to the kids later.
