All Blacks legend brands Wales' likely quarter-final opponents 'spoilt little brats' in scathing live TV attack

Wales' potential World Cup quarter-final opponents France have been castigated by rugby great Sean Fitzpatrick.

The New Zealand legend, arguably the greatest hooker in union history, didn't mince his words as he waded into the French following their display against the United States.

France eventually won 33-9 to overtake Argentina in Pool C and move within a point of its leaders England.

But they led by only three points with just 13 minutes remaining as the USA threatened a giant upset.

France responded with a flurry of late tries but it wasn't enough to satisfy Fitzpatrick.

"Literally, for 60 minutes, they were like spoilt little brats," blasted the ITV pundit.

"They were so frustrating to watch. Their coaches Jacques Brunel and Fabien Galthie must have been pulling their hair out in frustation.

"They are frustrating because they are lazy. You look at the intensity of the USA players at the breakdown compared to the French.

"The French were just holding back and didn't want to get involved."

Fitzpatrick singled out France's giant No.8 and catalyst Louis Picamoles as a prime example of French inepitude.

"Picamoles is a player that could ignite his team but we didn't see him," rapped the former All Blacks captain and World Cup winner.

Despite the performance, the victory keep France on course for a potential quarter-final against Wales on October 20. You can read more about that here.
