The All Blacks have sent a warning to the rest of the rugby world just two weeks before the World Cup begins by destroying Tonga 92-7 in Hamilton.
The result was New Zealand's seventh biggest win in history and their largest margin of victory over any team for 11 years.
New winger George Bridge helped himself to four tries, with the home team crossing the whitewash 14 times in all.
And the All Blacks even took the interesting decision to play the final 15 minutes with just 14 men as they pulled of the uninjured Ryan Crotty having already used all of their replacements. Tonga scored a late consolation try during this period.
Ben Smith and Crotty each scored two tries before that, while Sevu Reece, Codie Taylor, Matt Todd, captain Kieran Read, Ardie Savea and TJ Perenara all crossed for the world champions.
New Zealand skipper Read said: “We could have just rolled in with our eyes on a couple of weeks to go, so I’m really proud the way we stuck at it from the first whistle,” Read said.
“It was our last hit-out and it was important we have to keep building now.”
Despite the comprehensive win, the All Blacks will still be replaced at the top of the world rugby rankings if Ireland beat Wales on Saturday or if Wales win by more than 15 points. You can see the full rankings scenarios here and follow the match live here .
