Not only did reality TV star Kim Kardashian make her relationship with American comedian Pete Davidson official at the Met Gala 2022, but she also set the internet on fire after wearing a 60-year-old iconic dress at the do.
Kim wore Marilyn Monroe's famous gown (originally designed by Bob Mackie) from 1962, worn on President JFK's birthday. The diva actually slipped into the iconic dress for a moment, before slipping into its replica which she teamed up with a white fuzzy shawl.
Kardashian, her blonde hair in a tight bun, walked gingerly in the close-fitting dress as boyfriend and comedian Pete Davidson held her hand on the red carpet. Davidson chose a black suit and sunglasses.
The star of "The Kardashians" said she lost 16 pounds in three weeks so she could wear the iconic dress that Monroe sported in 1962. "It was such a challenge," Kardashian said. "It was like a role. I was determined to fit this."
"Stored in a darkened vault that’s controlled at the optimum 68 degrees and 40-50% humidity, the multi-million dollar dress has rarely been separated from its muslin-covered dress form, let alone worn by anyone other than Monroe," reported Vogue.
