All 9 MLB players from ‘The Simpsons’ ‘Homer at the Bat’ episode, ranked for 30th anniversary

A happy 30th anniversary on Sunday to one of the all-time greatest sports-themed episodes of television: “Home at the Bat,” a 1992 episode of The Simpsons starring nine Major League Baseball players hired as ringers to win a softball game for Montgomery Burns’ Springfield Power Plant team.

It’s an iconic episode for so many reasons, so much so that Homer Simpson — who delivered the game-winning RBI thanks to a hit-by-pitch that knocked him cold — received his own Baseball Hall of Fame plaque.

We decided the best thing to do to celebrate would be to rank the nine players who guest-starred, with a mix of their quotes, fates and more deciding who was the most memorable in the ep:
