All 3 of Packers’ starting WRs miss practice on Friday

All three starting wide receivers for the Green Bay Packers appear in serious danger of missing Sunday’s visit from the Oakland Raiders with various injuries.

Davante Adams (toe), Geronimo Allison (concussion, chest) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (ankle, knee) all missed a second consecutive day of practice on Friday.

Adams has been out since injuring his toe on Sept. 26. Allison and Valdes-Scantling were both injured during Monday night’s win over the Detroit Lions. Allison is in concussion protocol, while Valdes-Scantling hurt his knee and ankle while being bent backward at the end of a play in the second half.

The Packers will release official injury designations on Friday afternoon. It’s possible all three will be listed as either doubtful or out.

Together, Adams, Allison and Valdes-Scantling account for 57 catches and 805 receiving yards in 2019.

If they can’t go, the Packers would be down to Jake Kumerow, Allen Lazard, Darrius Shepherd and newcomer Ryan Grant at receiver on Sunday – barring a roster move made between now and game time.

If needed, the Packers have two receivers – Keon Hatcher and Malik Taylor – who could be promoted from the practice squad.

Kumerow and Lazard have both earned Aaron Rodgers’ trust, while Shepherd is looking to bounce back after a disastrous night against the Lions. Grant gives the group another veteran and a potential option in the slot, although his role could be limited as he learns the offense for the first time this week.

Lazard could be the key. He caught four passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Lions. It’s possible he’ll be the go-to target in the passing game against the Raiders on Sunday.
