Celtic have reportedly reached a "verbal agreement" to make Canadian World Cup star Alistair Johnston their second winter signing.
The Hoops have been working in the background on their January shopping plans and have already announced the signing of Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi on a long-term deal from J-League side Vissel Kobe. Right-back Johnston - who has also played at centre-back in his career - is the latest strongly linked with a move to Glasgow's east-end and reports have suggested that a deal is in the latter stages.
It's now claimed by trusted transfer guru Fabrizio Romano that the 24-year-old's current club Montreal have an agreement in place with the Premiership champions and are now waiting on the 'final details. His contract will then "be discussed in order to get the deal done and sealed". He's currently over in Qatar with his national team. His arrival would come amid rumours that Celtic's current international right-back Josip Juranovic could be on the way out.
It was reported earlier this month that his future at the Hoops will be assessed once he returns from the major tournament with Croatia, and his national take on Johnston's this Sunday in Group F.
