Alisson will miss Merseyside derby after being sent off for Liverpool against Brighton

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to miss the Merseyside derby against after being sent off against Brighton.

The Brazil international will be suspended for one game after he handled the ball outside the area .

Leandro Trossard looked bound to score as Alisson rushed out to meet the 24-year-old who looked to lob the ball into the open net.

Alisson raised his arm to stop what looked to be a certain goal.

After a VAR review confirmed Martin Atkinson’s dismissal of the Ballon d’Or nominee, Adrian was called into action.

The Spaniard, who signed for Liverpool in August, replaced Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Reds clean sheet woes linger on as Brighton scored the resulting free kick. With Lewis Dunk taking advantage of a distracted Liverpool to slot into the left hand corner.

Adrian will now likely start against Everton on Wednesday night.
