Alisson told to take responsibility for Liverpool slump by ex-Manchester United goalkeeper

Alisson has to accept the responsibility for Liverpool's recent slump in form according to former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich.

Having surrendered top spot in the Premier League last month, the Reds had seemed to reverse their faltering fortunes with victories over Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham.

However, they have since lost successive games against Brighton, Manchester City and Leicester City, with Alisson at fault for three goals in the latter two having missed his side's meeting with the Seagulls through illness.

Following his latest error in Liverpool' s 3-1 loss to the Foxes, which saw him collide with new signing Ozan Kabak and present Jamie Vardy with an open goal, Bosnich acknowledged that the Brazilian is low on confidence.

"He has to take the vast majority of the responsibility, especially for the recent mistakes," the Australian told Sky Sports.

"It's not helped him having a completely different centre-back pairing consistently since Virgil van Dijk has been out injured, including the new signing at the weekend.

"With the one at the weekend, with no crowds, there should be no reason whatsoever that the defender doesn't hear him coming to get the ball.

"He's low on confidence, there is no doubt about that. We saw what happened against Manchester City and it happened again at the weekend. I feel really sorry for Liverpool, especially when the first goal was offside and the player going for the ball impacted the goalkeeper.

"When it rains, it pours. It just isn't going well for Liverpool at this time."
