Alisson reveals what he thought of Loris Karius' mistake in Champions League final

Alisson says he was "saddened" watching Loris Karius drop two clangers in Liverpool's Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid last season.

The German shot-stopper had a mare on the biggest stage of them all after he rolled the ball into the path of Karim Benzema to score before flapping a speculative Gareth Bale shot into his own net.

The performance saw Jurgen Klopp make a beeline for the transfer market to sign a new keeper, and Liverpool completed a £67million summer move for Alisson.

The Brazilian has been a revelation for the Reds since putting pen to paper with the Anfield club, and is set to start between the sticks in Liverpool's second Champions League final in as many seasons this weekend.

Reminiscing on last year's Champions League final and Karius' mistakes, Alisson told ESPN: "I was saddened.

"We know the feeling of making a mistake in a competition as big as the Champions League; it's something that can stick with you for the rest of your career.

"But in life we always have the chance to make it better. I try to stay aware of everything.

"When I do something well, I don't let it get to my head. And when I make a mistake, I don't let it either."
