Alisson kit: Why Liverpool's goalkeeper is wearing one-of-a-kind jersey vs Barcelona

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker will wear a one-off goalkeeper shirt for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona.

The Reds have been forced into designing a new jersey for the Brazilian to wear after a clash of kits with the Barcelona's away kit.

The 26-year-old, who has kept 24 clean sheets in all competitions this season, would have ordinarily worn yellow for the game.

However, it was deemed that this would be too close to the Catalan's luminous orange strip and the Uefa kit that is issued to the match officials.

It means that Alisson will now wear an "alloy-coloured" goalkeeper shirt designed by the Reds' kit providers New Balance for the second leg clash at Anfield.

However, fans looking to grab themselves a collectors' item will be left disappointed: the club have confirmed that because it is a special-edition shirt, it will unavailable for purchase.

They will be able to avoid a recurrence of the problem next season though, having released an all-black goalkeeper kit for the 2019-20 campaign.
