Alisson injury update as Jurgen Klopp rules Liverpool goalkeeper out of UEFA Super Cup final

Alisson Becker has been ruled of Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup final against Chelsea as Liverpool wait to discover the extent of the goalkeeper's injury.

The Brazilian pulled up with a calf problem while taking a goal kick shortly before half-time of the Reds' 4-1 win at home to Norwich City on Friday in their Premier League opener.

He was replaced by Adrian, who only arrived at the club on Monday on a free transfer after Simon Mignolet joined Club Brugge.

And the new boy will now start against Chelsea in Istanbul on Wednesday with Liverpool hoping Alisson doesn't face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

“With Alisson it is not good but we will find a solution and move on,” said Klopp.

“He felt his calf. He looked behind him because he thought something hit him.

“But Adrian is a good goalie. In possession he is calm and he is good at shot-stopping, that's why we signed him. It's good for him but we have a little problem with Ali."
