In the latest NIVEA Men ‘Dear Liverpool FC’ series, Alisson Becker surprised lifelong Liverpool fan Ethan Beckley, who at 21-years-old donated bone marrow to save a life.
Ethan’s selfless act, via leading blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan , eventually met with Libbie Booker and saved her life.
In the fifth instalment of this series, Libbie’s family found out that Ethan was an avid Liverpool fan but had never been to a match or even visited the city.
Libbie and her family made sure this was about to change as they were given help by Ethan’s Liverpool hero, goalkeeper Alisson.

Huddersfield Town fan Libbie was initially diagnosed with Leukaemia at the age of 13 and relapsed two years later, meaning a bone marrow transplant was needed and this is where Ethan stepped in.
Upon arriving at Anfield, Ethan bumped into Alisson, who took the hero out pitch side to meet Libbie and her mother next to the famous Anfield turf.
In the video of the occasion on Liverpool’s YouTube channel , Ethan says: “I urge everyone to do it. It’s so easy to do and helps so many people.”
During Saturday’s match with Aston Villa at Anfield, the LED advertising boards will be used to raise awareness for the stem cell register to donate.
