Alison Hammond has spoken out on her last-minute This Morning absence - but it's not quite what it seems.
The ITV host was due back on the show following a summer break on Bank Holiday Monday alongside Rochelle Humes.
But at the eleventh hour, Alison had to pull out of the show due to illness and Eamonn Holmes stepped in.
Speaking at the start of yesterday's show, the 61-year-old said: "Well it was supposed to be Alison and Rochelle today but Alison isn’t well so get well soon Alison.

Eamonn also tweeted on Sunday: "Just when u thought you’d got rid of me…sickness with @AlisonHammond and @vernonkay means I’m off the bench.
"Get well soon to them but I have my boots on and I’m ready to play. Monday and Tues line up is now myself and @RochelleHumes. Hope you can join us."
It also comes after Vernon Kay also had to pull out of his This Morning hosting debut due to testing positive for coronavirus.
Alison had remained quiet on her reasons for missing the show - until Monday night.

Taking to Instagram, the 45-year-old shared a video sent to her from Manchester Pride.
It showed a cardboard cutout of herself being passed around during the massive celebration in the city.
Alison joked alongside the video: "I’m so sorry I was away from @thismorning today I had a mad crazy day at Manchester Pride.
"I’m now recovering from being passed about by all my mates," she added alongside laughing face emojis.
She also shared more on Twitter, commenting: "Manchester Pride was just the best !!! That’s why i don’t feel well today!!"
And those responsible were thrilled to hear from Alison.
"It was a pleasure to carry you about tbh," one commented.
Another said: "Thanks queen was so much fun dancing with you!!"
"We loved having you queen," a third added.
A fourth said: "FOUND YOU QUEEN STUNNING AS ALWAYS," alongside a snap of them enjoying the party with 'Alison'.
"Bestie you looked amazing," another responded.
Alison didn't add anymore on the reason for her absence and it's not know if she'll be back for Friday's show with Rochelle as usual co-host Dermot O'Leary appears live from Manchester as he prepares for Soccer Aid.
