Alison Hammond 'panics' This Morning viewers with bad news at start of show

Alison Hammond had some bad news for This Morning viewers on Friday, within seconds of the show starting, as she and co-host Dermot O'Leary were 'spooked' by superstition.

While it may have gone unnoticed by many Brits just going about their days with ignorant bliss, Friday was actually Friday 13th and the infamous date was addressed as soon as cameras fell on Alison and Dermot in the studio, as Dermot scaulded guest Gyles Brandreth for putting an umbrella up in the studio and wearing a jumper with a lack cat on; before throwing some spilled salt over his shoulder and having a go at Alison for putting new shoes on the table in front of them.

While not actually mentioning it was Friday 13th, for those who didn't catch on, it didn't take long for Dermot to confirm the fact, with him remarking: "It's Friday 13th this morning, we're just laughing in the face of it," as a calendar showing the date flashed up on screen.

After discussing the roots behind Friday 13th being such an infamous date, Alison then had some concerning news for any superstitious This Morning viewers watching at home, as she revealed that there are actually TWO Friday 13ths this year, saying: "Apparently this year, there is going to e two Friday 13ths; there's one obviously today and another one in October."

Dermot then confessed he'd actually been doing some very OTT acting moments earlier, as he owned up to not being superstitious in the slightest, leaving Alison visibly shocked by telling her he'd deliberately walk under ladders, with her replying: "Oh, I'd never do that!"

Those of the same stance as Dermot seemed baffled by Alison's approach, with one tweeting: "Alison dramatically saying "I can't believe it is Friday 13th, why???"

However, siding with Alison, another This Morning viewer reacted: "Never walk under a ladder. A woman I once worked with would never leave the house on Friday 13th, she’d always booked the day off as holiday," with a third joking: "My husband was born on a Friday 13th. He’s the luckiest person I know. He married me!"
