Alison Hammond fans gobsmacked as she takes on another new 'role' away from This Morning

Alison Hammond has left fans gobsmacked as she unveiled her latest role away from This Morning. The presenter, who has spent more than 20 years appearing on the ITV daytime show, has been spreading her wings away from the programme more and more of late despite being one of the main hosts.

And it's fair to say that fans of the TV star were shocked to see her feature promo for Stormzy's new music video. The clip, which was posted to the British rap star's Instagram on Wednesday, showed Alison appearing to be playing the role of a therapist as she sat on a sofa across from rapper Fredo who features on the track.

The 48-year-old appeared composed and far from her usually bubbly, giggling ways viewers are used to seeing on This Morning. She could be seen sporting a black blazer over a black top which had been paired with a black leather skirt and pumps.

Our eyes couldn't help but be drawn to her floral drop earrings as she wore her hair down in a softly curled with one side tucked behind her ears to show off her eye-catching accessories. Alison also held a notebook and a pen in her hands as she asked in a serious tone: "I want you to tell me what your toxic traits are."

Raper and singer Fredo, whose real name is Marvin William Bailey, was then heard responding to Alison as he said: "Listen I’ve just got too many man I don’t even know where to start," to which Alison then replied: "Well just start at the beginning."

The promo clip for the video, which Alison teased on her Instagram Story as it will be released in full at 8:45 pm on Thursday evening (June 22), post to Stormzy's Instagram with the caption: "TOXIC TRAIT FT. FREDO - OUT TOMORROW @ 8:45PM," was quickly being flooded with comments due to Alison's involvement.

Comedian and Loose Women star Judi Love wrote: "Yesss @alisonhammond55," with a string of dlame emojis. Heart and former BBC 1Xtra DJ Yasmin Evans posted: "COME ON ALISON!!! @alisonhammond55."

@jessicaleetaylorx said: "Alison bladdy Hammond doing bits these days! Gew on bab." @joshfryer_ commented: "Alison Hammond u know. Legend." @icykal replied: "Alison and Fredo is a combo I didn’t know I needed." @laurmais added: "I didn’t think I could love you more then you go and put my girl @alisonhammond55 IN THE DAM VIDEO."

It comes after Alison was showered with support from fans as she broke her period of social media silence to reveal she had taken on a 'new job'. Since the Phillip Schofield scandal hit This Morning Alison has kept a low profile on social media until last week when she shouted about taking on a new role - albeit temporarily - as part of some advertising work.

The much-loved star had commuters in hysterics when she turned up at London's Paddington Station on 15 June, announcing that she had become a chief inspector for Virgin Trains Ticketing. In the social media video, Alison was seen encouraging the public to use the Virgin Trains Ticketing app, announcing, "I am the Chief Points Inspector today here at Paddington. It is absolutely amazing."

She tweeted: "I'm dressed like this, I am absolutely loving it." And on Instagram, she cheekily added: "Do you think I can keep the hat?" as she sported a red sparkling jacket and train driver hat.

And as she shared the advertising posts to social media, fans were quick to comment as they thanked the 48-year-old and praised her. @jayne_ellen68 said: "You make the world a happier place. Thank you for always making me smile." @schamp96 commented: "I love this. You honestly make me laugh all the time."

@kaell52 wrote: "Alison you are fabulous." @surfinbutterfly replied: "Love this, you’re so refreshingly positive and joyful." @caw2star7 shared: "@alisonhammond55, you are a real breath of fresh air. I love seeing what you get up to because your a great crowd pleaser. Well done you."
