Alison Hammond 'almost arrested' during live ITV broadcast

This Morning presenters Phil and Holly were left shocked after Alison Hammond was nearly arrested during a live ITV broadcast.

The 44-year-old was live from Pisa in Italy promoting This Morning's latest competition when Italian police approached her.

As Alison was telling viewers about how to enter the competition, a policewoman stood in front of the camera and tried to move them on, Liverpool Echo explain.

Alison said: "Look guys, we haven't got a permit, we are not allowed to film here. I'm gonna get arrested. I love you all. Laters."

She then turned to two officers, trying to smooth things over and said: "I am so sorry. Buongiorno."

Presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were shocked back in the studio, Phil left open mouthed.

Holly said: "Good luck Alison... with the Italian police."

Phil added: "Well, we have sent her to many places, but that is the first time she has got arrested."

They cut back to the mum-of-one who said she was 'still shaking', but the police approached her again, ushering her to move on.

Fearing an arrest, Alison bolted down the street away from the law and the camera operator.

Fans of the show found the chaos hilarious, once they knew Alison was OK.

One said: "Omg how funny no permit to film maybe a thing you guys should of checked out."

Somebody else said: "Hahahahahahaha I’m howling."

But others felt it may have been staged, one said: "That wasn’t set up much."

This Morning is on ITV1, weekdays and Sundays from 10.30am.
