Alireza Jahanbakhsh goal: Watch wonder bicycle-kick for Brighton vs Chelsea

Alireza Jahanbakhsh was so overcome with emotion after scoring his first Premier League goal for Brighton that he wept on the pitch against Bournemouth.

The tears flowed for Jahanbakhsh on 28 December as he finally found the net for the Seagulls - but his goal against Chelsea on New Year's Day was perhaps even more memorable.

With Chelsea leading 1-0 at the Amex Stadium in the closing stages, Frank Lampard's Blues failed to clear a corner - and Jahanbakhsh duly delivered a goal-of-the-season contender.

Iran international Jahanbakhsh acrobatically flung himself in the air to bicycle-kick home a stunning volley which left Kepa Arrizabalaga rooted to the spot.

Brighton fans could scarcely believe what they had seen, and neither could Chelsea as the goal hit their top-four hopes.

Jahanbakhsh has struggled since becoming Brighton's club-record signing in summer 2018, but two goals in as many games suggest that the 26-year-old is beginning to find his feet on the south coast.
