Jan. 16--AAA (American Automobile Association) announced this year's five-diamond and four-diamond restaurant and hotel winners Friday, and, once again, Chicago is sitting pretty.
Chicago netted six five-diamond restaurants, all repeat winners; only New York City, with seven winners, has more.
Everest received the five-diamond designation for the 19th straight year. Other repeat winners were Tru (15) and Alinea (9), Acadia, Grace and Sixteen each won the five-diamond award for the second straight year.
Four-diamond winners were Arun's, Blackbird, Boka, Cafe des Architectes, Les Nomades, mk, Moto, Naha, Next, Pelago, Sepia, Shanghai Terrace, Spiaggia, Topolobampo and Travelle.
The Langham Hotel, which houses Travelle restaurant, was designated a five-diamond hotel for the first time, one of only eight new five-diamond hotels in the country. The Langham joins repeat winners The Four Seasons, Peninsula Chicago, Trump International Hotel Towers and Waldorf-Astoria.
The Carriage House and LaSalle Grill, both in South Bend, led the list of four-diamond restaurants in Indiana. Also recognized in Indiana were Restaurant Tallent, in Bloomington, and Joseph Decuis, in Roanoke.
