More than a decade after the critically acclaimed Alien: Isolation terrified players aboard Sevastopol, Sega and Creative Assembly have dropped a cryptic new teaser on Alien Day (April 26). The teaser, titled “A False Sense of Security,” finally breaks cover on Alien Isolation 2, the much-awaited sequel that was first confirmed to be in development in 2024.
Alien Isolation 2 teaser shows iconic save station
The video offers no title card or gameplay, instead showcasing a rain-soaked environment with blast doors opening into a grey, overcast sky. Also visible is the unmistakable save phone station from the original game, hinting at a potential return for the mechanic in the sequel.
While auto-save has made manual save points largely redundant on modern consoles, the save stations in Alien: Isolation were more than a convenience. Instead they were a tension device, with players desperately pushing through danger to reach the next one and lock in their progress.

The open skies also mark a dramatic change in the setting for Alien Isolation 2. The original Alien: Isolation took place entirely within the claustrophobic corridors of the Sevastopol space station, and the Torrens ship, ending with Amanda Ripley ejecting both herself and the Xenomorph, into space. A planetside setting would mark a major shift in scope for the sequel, trading in the horror staple of narrow hallways, for open terrain.
When will Alien Isolation 2 release?
The teaser is the first update fans have received for the game in nearly two years. Alien Isolation 2 was formally confirmed in October 2024, as Sega and Creative Assembly marked the original’s 10th anniversary with the news that a sequel was in development. The unnamed sequel even won the Most Anticipated Game Award at the Horror Game Awards 2024. While Al Hope’s return as creative director was confirmed, very little else has been revealed about the game so far. Though the release of a teaser points to a potential release in 2027 or 2028.
Whether that story follows Amanda Ripley once again, or hands the baton to an entirely new protagonist remains to be seen. For now, Alien Isolation 2, much like the Xenomorph, is out in the open and fans will hold their breaths for any further news.
