Alicia Witt's parents were found dead in their home, reports say.
The Dune actress reportedly asked a relative to check on her father Robert Witt, 87, and mother Diane Witt, 75, at their Worcester, Massachusetts home as she had not heard from them.
The Sun report that the Hollywood star, 46, said in a statement: “I reached out to a cousin who lives close to my parents to check on them. Sadly, the outcome was unimaginable.
“I ask for some privacy at this time to grieve and to wrap my head around this turn of events, and this surreal loss.”
Police haven’t confirmed the cause of death but said there were no signs of foul play.
An autopsy will be conducted and officers scoured the home as they try to establish a cause of death.
“I can confirm that police were dispatched to the residence and discovered a male and a female deceased," Worcester police spokesperson Lt Sean Murtha said on Tuesday.
"There were no signs of foul play. It is under investigation."

Mr Murtha said there was no signs that the couple had faced any sort of trauma.
Alicia's parents had lived in Worcester for decades.
The actress grew up there with her brother Ian before she made the move to Hollywood.
The Two Weeks Notice star began her career in the 80s as a child artist.

She then shot to international fame after bagging roles in huge films such as Twin Peaks and Dune.
Alicia has also starred in shows such as The Walking Dead, Sopranos, Two and a Half Men, and Orange Is the New Black.
As well as her TV and film career, Alicia has taken to the stage on Broadway while also continuing to sing and play the piano.
