Alice Evans blast ex Ioan Gruffudd as 'disingenuous' in savage rant amid bitter divorce
Actress Alice Evans has taken aim at her estranged husband Ioan Gruffudd on social media.
The blonde star shared her annoyance and frustration towards the Liar actor - who she shares two daughters with - on the micro-blogging site and did not hold back as she fired accusations at him.
She claimed that he has "ghosted" her and branded him "disingenuous" and accused him of being "devoid of any empathy whatsoever."
Alice Tweeted: "I did my fair share of crying, screaming, accusing. I begged and begged for at least some sort of running discussion, for the kids sake. That's my way of reacting to such a life-changing event. So he ghosted me. I have been ghosted for almost 10 months now."
In another message, she wrote: "If you read this and feel anger or upset towards ME for sharing, that's ok. For me, as some of you will know, this was a case of the drop that overflowed the glass.
"For others, it must have come as a bit of a shock or a strange thing to do. I totally understand."
Other scathing tweets read: "'This is the real Ioan Gruffudd. I'm not bending over for this guy" and "This man is devoid of any empathy whatsoever!"
The Mirror has contacted a representative for Ioan Gruffudd for comment.
The Hollywood power couple were married for 13 years after they tied the knot in 2007.
Earlier this year, Ioan filed the legal papers to get a divorce from his wife Alice at Los Angeles Superior Court.
Their joint statement read: "As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy."
Ioan had said 12 months before his split from Alice, 49, that they had been struggling to make things work for a while.
The actor, best known for starring in the Fantastic Four movies, admitted it was hard for them to make time for each other.
He told the Guardian last February: "I think we’ve struggled the past four years, making time for each other because physically we’re apart."
He said they were "practical" about it and admitted that most of the parenting of their daughters Ella, 11, and Elsie, seven, was left to Alice.
Speaking about his brief time as a stay-at-home-dad, Ioan said: "Alice had come back, she had been away for a week. I was showing off – 'the kids are in bed' – and she was 'Yeah, you’ve done one week Ioan, try six months'."
The former couple met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000.
Ioan and Alice married in 2007 and welcomed both of their children after going through IVF treatment.
His mum Margaret Griffiths, 73, has since spoken out to make it clear that no one else was involved in the break up.
She told The Sun : "It is very sad and we are all very sorry it has happened, of course.
"But the children will come first whatever happens, that’s for sure."
When asked if there was "anyone else", she replied: "No, no, no."
Their split started to play out on social media in January when Alice began confiding in her followers online.
Previously, Alice had told her Instagram followers the couple were having conversations about a legal separation.
Previously, Alice said the couple have decided to remain friends after their split.
She wrote: "Thank you for your kind comments. As for the unkind ones, I get it.
"It must be weird to comprehend why somebody would share their pain on social media rather than with their nearest and dearest.
"I get that. You must think I’m an a**hole. I’m not though.
"I don’t have a mum, or a dad. I don’t have any close friends in LA. I’ve looked after my kids for half their lives alone. My husband knows that.
"We are indeed discussing legal separation, but we are still friends. You can say what you want about me being an attention seeker but you know it’s not true.
"You just want a reason to put me down. Please - go ahead. I’m impenetrable."
