Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans reportedly broke up over irreconcilable differences.
The divorce documents have surfaced after it was reported Ioan, 47, had filed for legal separation from his wife Alice, 49.
Alice previously claimed on Instagram that her husband hadn't told her he was filing for a divorce with the words: "Oh. Ok. Thanks for letting me know. I guess?"
According to the documents which have surfaced, the couple plan to get joint custody of their two children.
It also revealed the couple had split on New Year's Day, a month before the news sent shockwaves through the showbiz circuit.
Divorce papers for the couple were filed at Los Angeles Superior Court on March 1.
The documents read: "Parties are in the Collaborative Process and intend to fully resolve all issues including spousal support by written agreement."
The Mirror has reached out to Alice Evans and Ioan Gruffudd's representatives for further comment.
Alice and Ioan's love story goes back to when they met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000.
Love was in the air and they quickly became a hot couple in Hollywood.
Now their 14 years of marriage has come to the end in the road after two children and many happy years together.
The fallout of their split has played out on social media when Alice begun talking to her followers about what was going on behind closed doors.
Weeks of speculation followed.
Most recently, she has promised followers she will be "back soon with more divorce story".
The couple sent shockwaves through the showbiz world with the announcement of their split.
Their joint statement read: "As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy."
