Gauri Shinde’s second directorial venture Dear Zindagi, which hit theatres on Friday, opened to a good collection of Rs 8.75 crore at the domestic box office windows.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Dear Zindagi also collected Rs 2.87 crore in North America over two days (the film had a mid-week release in North America on Wednesday).
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, Dear Zindagi is about a young girl trying to find the perfect life and her encounter with psychologist. Made with an estimated budget of Rs 30 crore, the film released across 1200 screens in India on Friday.
With his last two movies (Fan and Dilwale) proving to be a dud at the box office, SRK certainly needs a hit - he can only hope the film’s earnings soar over the weekend.
