Alia Bhatt's wedding sari reminded us of a Sabyasachi sari worn by Kangana Ranaut and Sonam Kapoor

While most of the Bollywood brides pick lehengas for their big fat weddings, Indian film actress picked up a sari for her fairytale wedding with co-actor, Ranbir Kapoor. While we loved her sari look for the day, it did end up reminding us of a certain sari worn by Bollywood actresses Kangana Ranaut and Sonam Kapoor, a few years ago.

For the wedding ceremony Alia wore a hand dyed ivory organza sari embroidered with fine tilla work and an embroidered handwoven tissue veil by none other than India's favourite wedding designer Sabyasachi. Alia accessorised the sari with Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery featuring uncut diamonds and hand strung pearls.

Kangana wore a very similar ivory golden sari by ace designer Sabyasachi for her brother Aksht's post wedding celebrations in 2020. The sari was gifted to the actress by her parents and she styled it in a very different way with a Himachali cap and a Kull shawl.

In 2019, Sonam wore the same sari to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Sonam styled the sari with a quirky jacket blouse with big buttons, golden and emerald statement earrings by her mother Sunita Kapoor and a gold watch by IWC Watches.

While Kangana and Sonam's saris are almost alike, Alia's wedding sari does seemingly draw inferences from the popular Sabyasachi sari, but is certainly a lighter version of the same. In fact, it also features butterfly motifs, unlike the other two saris which only feature floral motifs. Well, we loved all three looks, but have to say, Sabyasachi gave the best version to the bride of the year, Alia!

We are in love with Alia's chic bridal look, tell us how did you like it in the comment section below.
