Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has commenced work on her next big venture titled 'Jigra'. The actress, took to her Instagram handle to share the exciting details with her fans and shared a handful of BTS pictures from the sets and her vanity van.

Sharing the post, Alia wrote, "& we're rolling ... day one of bringing our Jigra to life... stay tuned as we bring to you a piece of our hearts... fingers and toes crossed for the journey aheaddddddd ... love TEAM JIGRA."

Among the many photos shared on her handle, was one featuring her sister Shaheen Bhatt, who joined her in her vanity van.

Directed by Vasan Bala, the movie has booked a September 27, 2024 release. The move, which will see Alia in the lead, will also mark her second venture into film production under her banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions. Her debut production, 'Darlings', had an OTT release in 2022 and received positive acclaim.

The announcement of 'Jigra' was made last week by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions on their official social media page. They shared the exciting news in a note that read, "@aliaa08 is back to put up a courageous fight like no other for her #Jigra! JIGRA, directed by Vasan Bala - releasing in cinemas on 27th September 2024."

While specific details about the film's plot and cast are still shrouded in secrecy, the project has already generated significant buzz and anticipation among fans.

Alia's announcement comes just hours after news broke that her husband, Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning on Friday in connection with the Mahadev betting application money-laundering case in Chhattisgarh.

According to reports, the agency has accused Kapoor of receiving money from the promoters of the app for promoting their product in the virtual (online) space. The ED has asked Kapoor to appear at the agency's Raipur office on October 6.

Around 14-15 other celebrities and actors are under the ED's scanner in the case and they will also be summoned soon, sources said.
