Ali McCann on Celtic's transfer radar with Hoops set to 'scout' St Johnstone midfielder at Hampden

Ali McCann will reportedly be scouted by Celtic today as he looks to help St Johnstone into the Scottish Cup final.

The Hoops will have a representative at Hampden to run the rule over the Northern Irish international as they take on St Mirren at Hampden this afternoon.

Despite having not yet appointed a new manager nor a director of football, Celtic are pressing on with plans for next season as they plot the best way to wrestle the Scottish Premiership title back from Rangers.

And McCann is on their radar after an impressive season under Callum Davidson, lifting the Betfred Cup and netting the decisive pentaly that dumped Rangers out of this competition to set up today’s last four encounter.

However, there is likely to be fierce competition for McCann’s signature form clubs in England.

He also has two years left to run on his contract at McDiarmid Park so isn’t likely to come cheap.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Liam Shaw has already been snapped up for next season, but Celtic require more than one new addition in midfield.

Scott Brown is leaving for Aberdeen while Callum McGregor has been linked with a move to Leicester City and a reunion with Brendan Rodgers.
