Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika returned flew back to his country after undergoing medical check-ups in Switzerland, his office said in a brief statement on Saturday.
Bouteflika traveled Monday to Geneva for what the presidency called a periodic health check.
His office said he returned to Algeria's capital, Algiers on Saturday.
Bouteflika has been in office as president since 1999. His current term ends next year, and he has not said if he will seek another.
Bouteflika suffered a stroke in 2013, which diminished his mobility.
He has since travelled abroad several times to undergo medical examinations in Paris, the southeastern French city of Grenoble and Geneva.
