Algeria fans in wild celebrations in London and Paris after team reaches AFCON final

Hundreds of jubilant Algeria football fans in London took to the streets after their team reached the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Fans celebrated wildly in Piccadilly Circus, with some climbing the statue of Eros, after Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez scored an injury time winner in the 2-1 victory over Nigeria,

Supporters also celebrated on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park, where fireworks were let off, and in Walthamstow and Southwark.

Algeria take on Senegal in the final on Friday.

In France, police arrested 282 people across the country today as Algeria celebrations got out of hand.

Tear gas and baton charges were used on the Champs Elysees in Paris, where thousands had gathered in the early hours.
