Alfredo Morelos turns tables on Celtic 10 In A Row gesture as Rangers striker toasts title in familiar celebration

It's the jubilant gesture that was seen on the terraces at Celtic matches for years.

Two palms outstretched with each digit representing a presumed league title.

Even former Parkhead bosses Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon have both thrown up the signal to fans in times of joy.

Nine of them were realised but with Rangers inches away from clinching the league title, the '10 In A Row' hand sign has now been co-opted for a different meaning - 55.

No fans were in the ground to bask in the imminent Premiership glory in Saturday afternoon's home match against St Mirren but Ibrox striker Alfredo Morelos turned the tables after scoring his side's second.

Ryan Kent got the hosts off to a flyer with a neat strike before the Colombian frontman doubled the lead for Steven Gerrard's side.

His goal ensured they were 2-0 up and cruising with just one more point required to complete their first league triumph in a decade.

Brendan Rodgers occasionally brought out the '10' gesture as Celtic boss (X01095)

And as he wheeled away in celebration he pointed both hands towards the cameras on the sidelines.

After Rangers finished the job against the Buddies with a 3-0 win - Ianis Hagi adding the final strike in the second half - it means John Kennedy's Celtic must win against Dundee United on Sunday to delay that crowning moment and avoid their rivals turning up in Glasgow's east end as champions on March 21.
