Alfredo Morelos transfer talks 'slip' but dogged Lille won't give up on Rangers hero

Determined Lille still have Alfredo Morelos "in their sights" despite reaching an impasse with Rangers - according to a report.

The 24-year-old striker returned to form for the Ibrox side in the 3-0 Premiership win over St Mirren as he netted a double in the second half.

And now La Voix du Nord state Lille and sporting director Luis Campos are refusing to give up on a move for the Colombian despite their £16m weekend bid being turfed out.

The Ligue 1 side don't have their problems to seek after being hit with UEFA sanctions after being found guilty of four Financial Fair Play breaches.

But Lille remain confident they will be able to invest in talent after raking in over £130m for Nicolas Pepe and Victor Osimhen in the past 12 months.

Lille have already added Burak Yilmaz and are on the verge of another striker signing as Jonathan David's £27m move from Gent is expected to be confirmed in the next 24 hours.

Christophe Galtier's side agonisingly missed out on Champions League football by a point last season but will be aiming for a return this season.

And they want added firepower as they continue to monitor Rangers talisman Morelos and will be buoyed by his display against Jim Goodwin's side at Ibrox on Sunday.
