Alfredo Morelos transfer latest with Leicester 'not interested' despite Brendan Rodgers rumours

Leicester City have no interest in signing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos despite reports linking the Colombian with a move south.

A report in another newspaper claimed Leicester would make a move to sign Morelos in the summer as a backup to hitman Jamie Vardy.

But Record Sport Online understands that Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers isn't even considering a move for Morelos and has no interest in signing the 23-year-old frontman.

It had been claimed that Morelos' 29 goals in the first half of the season had persuaded Rodgers that he could cut it in the English Premier League despite his disciplinary problems.

It was also suggested that Morelos would be available at a cut price because of the coronavirus pandemic but Record Sport Online can confirm Rodgers doesn't want to sign him.

The Ibrox striker has been a key player for Steven Gerrard during his time at the club and has regularly been linked with moves away.

He's often spoken about testing himself in England but no offers have come in for him from down south during his three seasons in Glasgow so far.

Morelos has been out of form since being sent off in the win over Celtic in December, scoring just once in 2020 so far.

Leicester have also been linked with a move for Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer, who developed into a top defender in Scotland under Rodgers' watch.

But it's understood that Rodgers also has no interest in taking the Norwegian south with him.
