Alfredo Morelos to Aston Villa earns three word pundit response as Rangers forward blasted for 'temper'

Alfredo Morelos to Aston Villa is a total 'non-starter' for former striker Gabby Agbonlahor because he is not Premier League quality.

The Rangers forward looks set to end a six-year spell at Ibrox this season with his contract up in the summer and no fresh terms penned with Michael Beale's side. The English gaffer admitted the Colombian's situation was unique but claimed prior to the clash with Dundee United that talks were still ongoing. Morelos has been benched in the last few games with Antonio Colak emerging again.

The likes of Galatasaray are said to be interested in the 26-year-old but links to La Liga Sevilla have been quashed. Reports in Turkey suggested Villa could battle it out for his signature but pundit Agbonlahor is having none of it. The Talksport mouthpiece does not believe Morelos has the quality for England's top flight and that Unai Emery would not have any of his 'fitness or temper' problems.

When asked about Morelos to Villa, he told Football Insider: “Not for me."

He added: "He’s got his fitness problems, he’s got problems with his temper – you hear whispers from Rangers.

“I just don’t see him as a Premier League player. I don’t see him starting in this Villa side, I can’t see him being a good option off the bench.

“He’s just not quick enough for this league. It’s a complete non-starter. Emery is a clever manager – he knows the right type of player to bring in. I can’t see him getting on with Morelos.

“He’s not going to get Villa into the top seven.”
