Alfredo Morelos slammed by Rangers legend Kris Boyd for Ryan Porteous 'stamp'

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos should have been sent off according to goal legend Kris Boyd.

The Colombian appeared to stamp on Ryan Porteous during the first half stalemate of the league leaders’ clash with Hibs at Easter Road.

He stepped on the Hibby centre-back – no stranger to controversy himself against Steven Gerrard ’s side.

But Morelos wasn’t even booked by referee Kevin Clancy.

And Boyd, covering the game for Sky, said: “It’s a red card. There is no getting away from it.

“He is very lucky to still be on this pitch.

“I don’t understand why he needs to do it. I can’t work it out.

“People could tell me that he’s trying to get out the road of him - he’s not. You can see it right there.

“He is very lucky to still be on this pitch.

"Joe Aribo and Morelos have done nothing to effect this game so far."

Fellow pundit James McFadden was in agreement as he added: “Absolutely, and Kevin Clancy couldn’t be in a better position.

“I’ve no idea why he hasn’t managed to see it, and Alfredo Morelos is very lucky to still be on the pitch.”

Morelos soon opened the scoring just five minutes after the restart and his goal proved to be the winner as relentless Rangers continue their march towards their first title in 20 years.
