Alfredo Morelos sends Rangers 'ride out storm' message as striker responds after Dundee United flashpoint

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has sent a message to supporters as his struggles in front of goal continue.

The Colombian hit 29 before the turn of the year last season but only has seven strikes to his name so far in 2020-21, with two of those coming against Lincoln Red Imps in a Europa League qualifier.

El Bufalo was also involved in a flashpoint against Dundee United as he caught Mark Connoly with an arm and was booked.

With Steven Gerrard's rampant side 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and into the last 32 of European competition as group winners things are rosy at Ibrox.

But Morelos has acknowledged that he's not been at his best in his latest Instagram post - and appeared to promis fans he will be firing in the goals soon.

He posted an snap of himself before Sunday's clash against Dundee United, which was to be El Bufalo's seventh consecutive league game without finding the net.

The frontman's caption, when translated, read: "Be strong because things are getting better, maybe there is a storm now, but the rain does not last forever".

Morelos was substituted in the second period and could have been sent off during a first-half flashpoint with Mark Connolly as his side downed United in a 2-1 win with goals from defensive duo James Tavernier and Connor Goldson.

Tavernier notched his 17th of the season at Tannadice with a long-range free-kick before assisting Goldson to put Rangers back in front after Liam Smith equalised for the Terrors.
