Alfredo Morelos sends pointed Rangers message as striker hits back at critics after Hibs flashpoint

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos appeared to bite back at his critics as he posted a pointed message on social media.

The Colombian international was the match-winner for Steven Gerrard 's side on Wednesday as he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Hibs.

Easter Road boss Jack Ross felt he shouldn't have been on the park to net though after a first-half incident involving Ryan Porteous.

El Bufalo appeared to deliberately tread on the defender and could face retrospective action from the SFA.

But defiant Morelos sent a clear message on social media on Thursday evening as he posted a picture to his Twitter account.

The Rangers striker could face a retrospective ban for the incident if it's deemed his actions were deliberate.

Referee Kevin Clancy saw the flashpoint but decided it had been an innocent tangle of legs.

Darren McGregor of Hibs, who could also be in the dock after a similar clash with Glen Kamara, said after the match: "Ultimately he's not stood on Porteous with an attempt to really hurt him but he has stood on him.

"I seen it with my own eyes and he could have easily stepped over him so of that constitutes a red card then it's a red.

"The ref said he didn't think it was intentional and didn't mean to put his foot there.

"We all know the game and we all know where you can put your foot and to me it did look like he could have placed it on the ground but he placed it on Ryan's leg."
