Porto are yet to submit a bid to Rangers for Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian striker is wanted by the Portuguese giants and is on their transfer wish list, but they haven’t offered up any cash for El Bufalo.
Recent speculation claimed the Ibrox club had knocked back a bid of £10million from Dragoes, but the Daily Record reports this is not the case.
Morelos remains an integral part of Steven Gerrard’s plans as he plots his defence of the Scottish Premiership title.
The 25-year-old isn’t expected to join up with his teammates for pre-season training just yet, even though his country were knocked out of the Copa America this week after a penalty shoot-out defeat to Argentina.
The player will be given some time off after returning from Brazil before linking up with his club colleagues once again.
Claims that Morelos’ representatives have already agreed terms with Porto haven’t been confirmed, while his former Rangers teammate Daniel Candeais claims the mate is keen on a switch.
Agent Michael Gorman was in Portugal last week and it was reported that he was there to thrash out a deal with Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinta Da Costa.
But he was in fact putting the finishing touches on a deal for Morelos’ international teammate Yerson Mosquera to join Wolves.
Gorma is due back in the UK this week and there could be movement on Morelos then.
Terms were agreed with Ligue 1 outfit Lille last year but they wouldn’t pay what Rangers were asking.
And Porto will need to meet what is sure to be a hefty Gers asking price this time around if the club are to consider selling the man they signed for £1million in 2018.
