Alfredo Morelos Rangers transfer latest as Fenerbahce emerge as surprise contender

Turkish side Fenerbahce are the latest team to be linked with a move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian is being watched by teams all over the continent after his 17 goals helped fire Steven Gerrard's team to the title last season.

Porto have been the team most heavily tipped to seal a deal but recent reports have suggested they are reluctant to meet Rangers' asking price.

He was late returning for pre-season training but he got the goal in their Champions League qualifying second leg with Malmo and managed 82 minutes of their defeat to Dundee United at Tannadice.

But it's now being claimed in Turkey that Fenerbahce are considering a move.

Tavkim say he is one of three options on the table as they look to strengthen their side for a tilt at the Super Lig title, alongside Alexander Sorloth and Hee-chan Hwang.

But it seems unlikely the £12m fee that is being touted will be enough to lure him away from Ibrox.

Morelos isn't believed to be pushing for a move and while he is out of contract at the end of next season, Rangers aren't in a rush to sell.

Fenerbahce have been linked with Morelos before but their interest is yet to materialise into a concrete bid.
