Disappointed Charlie Adam fears Rangers may be forced to sell Alfredo Morelos after missing out on the Champions League.
After the shock defeat at Ibrox to Malmo, Steven Gerrard's side have been denied their shot at a bumper pay day in the group stage.
Dundee skipper and former Rangers midfielder Adam believes the disappointing night could have huge implications on the Ibrox transfer kitty this summer.
While reckons the majority of the players will remain at the club, he believes Morelos and Borna Barisic could be shipped out by the Champions.
He told BBC Sportsound: "Will Rangers have to sell players now? It's a huge blow for everybody.
"I don't think it will be drastic. It's a disappointing night for the whole club but they'll have to dust themselves down and go again on Friday night against Dunfermline at home.
"That's the reality because there's a long season ahead of you. You've got to move on quickly.
"The Champions League's gone, they're in the Europa League and they've got qualifiers for that next week, they've got to look to that.
"Do they have to sell players, do they have to do certain things? It's a huge blow for everybody.
"Financially they will be ok. There will be one or two they will look to sell, maybe a Barisic or something.
"They'll want to keep Ryan Kent because he's a match winner. Maybe Morelos might go, but I don't think it's going to be all-guns blazing they will be out the door.
"Ross Wilson and the owners will have planned for not making the Champions League. It just changes what type of player they can bring into the football club, if any."
