Alfredo Morelos' Rangers agent backtracks on loaded Kevin Clancy 'motive' claim

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos' agent Michael Gorman has deleted a shock claim aimed at Kevin Clancy in the wake of his star man's injury against Dundee United.

The Colombia international was wiped out after a horror tackle from Dundee United defender Ryan Edwards on Saturday but the Tannadice star wasn't booked by the man in the middle.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard queried whether Morelos would have been carded if roles had been reversed.

The striker has been involved in a series of flashpoints during three years in Scottish football but Gorman has claimed there is an agenda against his client.

He said in the post that he has now been removed: "It has been clear for a while that Morelos will not receive fair treatment in the Scottish Premiership.

"And now we have to question the motives of referee Kevin Clancy."

The Ibrox boss remains hopeful his star man will make a quick-fire recovery despite the brutal injury suffered in the 4-0 trouncing over Micky Mellon's side.

Gerrard said: "He's a lucky boy. The doctor is confident if we manage it right over the next few days we might have a chance for Thursday."
