Alfredo Morelos rages at Steven Naismith as Rangers striker in bust up with Hearts boss during fiery Ibrox clash

Alfredo Morelos was involved in a furious bust-up with Hearts boss Steven Naismith as the Colombian refused to slip away quietly in his final game at Ibrox.

Michael Beale handed the departing striker a start against the Jambos on the club's last home Scottish Premiership fixture of the season and the last for Morelos after six years in Govan. The striker's temperament has been questioned at times during his time in Glasgow and after playing his part in Todd Cantwell's leveller on the stroke of half time – the former Norwich City man cancelled out Lawerence Shankland's quickfire opener – he raced over to the visitors dug-out to rub it in to former Ibrox star Naismith who was later booked.

It stemmed from the pair having a go at each other moments earlier over a challenge after Nathaniel Atkinson was caught by Glen Kamara. Morelos was unhappy with comments from Naismith and others in the Hearts technical area.

Naismith could later be seen laughing towards Morelos, angering him further. Naismith remains very much in the bad books round these parts and sparked an outcry when he punched a stray ball onto the pitch just as the hosts were looking to take a quick throw.

Beaton dished out a yellow card but Morelos, showing he remains as hot-tempered now as the day he arrived from HJK Helsinki, was quickly on the scene looking to square up to the Jambos boss. He was dragged away that time and had to be held back again as he made a beeline for the Hearts bench as Gers levelled on the stroke of half-time.

His pass to Cantwell should have been cut out but when James Hill slipped, it allowed the former Norwich ace to canter through on Clark before slipping home the equaliser with a tidy finish. And the South American was quick to celebrate in front of the Hearts dug-out. Josh Ginnelly was booked at half-time as tempers flared. Rangers fans unveiled a banner thanking Morelos for his service at the club: From the heart of Colombia to the heart of our support - thanks Alfredo.
