Alfredo Morelos' Porto transfer could be 'unlocked' by Liverpool's summer signings

Alfredo Morelos's future could be decided by Liverpool's transfer dealings this summer.

As we've told you previously, the Rangers striker has attracted many suitors after several impressive seasons at Ibrox, and Portuguese giants Porto are at the front of the queue after speaking to Morelos's advisors.

However, it remains to be seen whether or not Porto can match the Gers' valuation of their talisman, with Jurgen Klopp's Reds set to play a crucial role in proceedings.

Porto's Brazilian international midfielder Otavio is firmly on the radar of the Premier League giants but has a steep £60m asking price, however, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, the 26-year-old Brazilian could be landed for a reduced fee of £34m this summer - and Klopp desperately needs a replacement for the outgoing Georginio Wijnaldum.

Should Liverpool move to formally sign Otavio, Marca claim that would "unlock" the door for Porto to land Morelos, with the significant cash injection set to be used to reinforce their attacking options.

Morelos played a key role in helping Rangers win their first Premiership title since 2011 last season, and is thought to be valued at a significantly higher value than the £10million initially offered by Porto earlier this month.
