Alfredo Morelos is likely to leave Rangers soon amid Lazio interest says Marco Negri

Marco Negri believes Alfredo Morelos is likely to leave Rangers soon.

The Colombian striker has recently been linked with Lazio, with fellow Serie A sides Napoli and AC Milan also having been mentioned in connection with the 24-year-old.

With 77 goals in 137 games since arriving at Ibrox in 2017, Morelos is the most high-profile player in Steven Gerrard's squad.

Former Rangers star Marco Negri, however, believes his time at Ibrox may be coming to an end.

Speaking in the Sunday Post, Negri said: "His scoring ratio is very high and, while numbers are not everything in football, they do count.

“They will have been carefully analysed by a lot of clubs and, because his numbers are so good, I think Morelos’ experience at Rangers is ending.

“He will probably change clubs and I’d like to see him in Italy. Lazio can be the right team for him.

“Why? Because I believe Simone Inzaghi is an excellent coach. We have already seen the work he has done on Felipe Caicedo.”

Negri scored an incredible 23 goals in his first 10 league games for Rangers, but struggled to recapture his form following an eye injury and eventually left Ibrox for Bologna in 2001.
